**Hailey Hinkley** (; born October 3, 1996) is an American professional [soccer player](/source/Soccer_player) who plays as a [defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)).

## Early life

Hinkley was born in [San Diego](/source/San_Diego), California and raised in the [Rancho Peñasquitos](/source/Rancho_Pe%C3%B1asquitos,_San_Diego) neighborhood.[2] She played for the DMCV Sharks in her childhood.[3]

## Club career

Hinkley made her NWSL debut on September 12, 2020.[4]

## Personal life

Hinkley's older sister, [Meagan Harbison](/source/Meagan_Harbison), is also a soccer player[2] and is a member of the [Dominican Republic women's national team](/source/Dominican_Republic_women's_national_football_team).[5] She is of Irish descent through her father, while her mother is [Afro-Dominican](/source/Afro-Dominicans).
