## Demographics

### Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, Hafteh's population was 2,681 in 691 households,[2] when it was a village in, and the capital of, [Qarah Kahriz Rural District](/source/Qarah_Kahriz_Rural_District) of the [Central District](/source/Central_District_(Shazand_County)).[5] The capital of the rural district has been transferred to the village of [Amarat](/source/Amarat%2C_Markazi).[6]

After the census, the rural district was separated from the district in the formation of Qarah Kahriz District, with the village of [Bazneh](/source/Bazneh) as its capital.[7] Bazneh merged with Hafteh to form the village of [Hafteh and Bazneh](/source/Shahbaz%2C_Iran), which was elevated to city status as [Shahbaz](/source/Shahbaz%2C_Iran) in 2013.[6]
