**Habiganj-4** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh). Since 12 February 2026, the constituency has been represented by SM Faisal .

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Chunarughat](/source/Chunarughat_Upazila) and [Madhabpur](/source/Madhabpur_Upazila) upazilas, integrating these areas within a single administrative and electoral boundary.[1][2]

## History

The constituency was created in 1984 from the Sylhet-17 constituency when the former Sylhet District was split into four districts: [Sunamganj](/source/Sunamganj_District), [Sylhet](/source/Sylhet_District), [Moulvibazar](/source/Moulvibazar_District), and [Habiganj](/source/Habiganj_District).[3]

Ahead of the [2008 general election](/source/2008_Bangladeshi_general_election), the [Election Commission](/source/Bangladesh_Election_Commission) redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the [2001 Bangladesh census](/source/2001_Bangladesh_census).[4] The 2008 redistricting altered the boundaries of the constituency.[5]
