**HD 74156 b** is an [extrasolar planet](/source/Extrasolar_planet) at least 1.88 times the mass of [Jupiter](/source/Jupiter) that orbits the star [HD 74156](/source/HD_74156). It is most likely a [gas giant](/source/Gas_giant). This planet was discovered in April 2001 by [Dominique Naef](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominique_Naef) and [Michel Mayor](/source/Michel_Mayor) along with the second planet [HD 74156 c](/source/HD_74156_c).[2][1]
