# HD 142415 b

**HD 142415 b** is an [exoplanet](/source/Exoplanet) with the semi-[amplitude](/source/Amplitude) of 51.3 ± 2.3 [m/s](/source/M/s). This indicates the [minimum mass](/source/Minimum_mass) of 1.69 [Jupiter masses](/source/Jupiter_mass), an [orbital period](/source/Orbital_period) of 386.3 [days](/source/Day), and the [semi-major axis](/source/Semi-major_axis) of 1.07 [astronomical units](/source/Astronomical_unit) based from its stellar mass. The wild, oval pathed [wobble of the star](/source/Stellar_wobble) used by [Doppler spectrometer](/source/Doppler_spectrometer) indicates that the orbit of the planet is highly eccentric at around 50%.[1]

The planet was discovered in [La Silla Observatory](/source/La_Silla_Observatory) on 30 June 2003 by [Mayor](/source/Michel_Mayor), who used the [CORALIE](/source/CORALIE) spectrograph.
