**Gwyn R. Price** (born 1948) is a former [Welsh Labour](/source/Welsh_Labour) politician who served as the [Member of the Welsh Assembly](/source/Member_of_the_Welsh_Assembly) (AM) for [Islwyn](/source/Islwyn_(Assembly_constituency)) from [2011](/source/2011_National_Assembly_for_Wales_election) to [2016](/source/2016_National_Assembly_for_Wales_election).[1]

## Political career

Price was first elected to the [Welsh Assembly](/source/Welsh_Assembly) at the [2011 election](/source/2011_National_Assembly_for_Wales_election), representing [Islwyn](/source/Islwyn_(Senedd_constituency)).

On 18 February 2014, Price announced his intention to stand down[2] at the elections in 2016. He subsequently faced widespread criticism on social media over his perceived lack of engagement in the Assembly.[3]
