# Guyou Bay

**Guyou Bay** ([64°5′S 62°35′W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=64_5_S_62_35_W)) is a [bay](/source/Bay) 4 nautical miles (7 km) wide, which indents the west coast of [Brabant Island](/source/Brabant_Island) between [Claude Point](/source/Claude_Point) and [Metchnikoff Point](/source/Metchnikoff_Point), in the [Palmer Archipelago](/source/Palmer_Archipelago), Antarctica. Its head is fed by [Dodelen](/source/Dodelen_Glacier), [Oshane](/source/Oshane_Glacier) and [Ralitsa Glaciers](/source/Ralitsa_Glacier).

The bay was discovered by the [French Antarctic Expedition, 1903–05](/source/French_Antarctic_Expedition,_1903%E2%80%9305), under [Jean-Baptiste Charcot](/source/Jean-Baptiste_Charcot), who named it for Captain [Emile Guyou](/source/Emile_Guyou) of the [French Navy](/source/French_Navy), distinguished in the field of naval science and a member of the commission which published the scientific results of the expedition.[1]
