"**Gusheshe**" is a song by [South African](/source/South_Africans) [hip hop](/source/Hip_hop_music) recording artist [Cassper Nyovest](/source/Cassper_Nyovest), released as the first single from his debut [studio album](/source/Studio_album) [*Tsholofelo*](/source/Tsholofelo_(album)).[1] It was released on 19 April 2013 and features a guest verse from [Okmalumkoolkat](/source/Okmalumkoolkat).[2] The song was written by Nyovest and Okmalumkoolkat. It was produced by Ganja Beatz with co-production from Nyovest.[3]

The artwork, released on April 17, 2013, features a pink 1983 [BMW](/source/BMW) 325i [coupé](/source/Coup%C3%A9), known commonly as a "gusheshe" in [South Africa](/source/South_Africa). Upon its debut, the song received high rotation on radio stations including [YFM](/source/YFM) and [5FM](/source/5FM).[4]

Due to its positive reception, Nyovest won 4 awards for the song at the 2nd Annual [South African Hip Hop Awards](/source/South_African_Hip_Hop_Awards).[5][6][7] It was also licensed for a [Sprite](/source/Sprite_(soft_drink)) commercial in the [United States](/source/United_States).[8]

The music video was directed by Nicky Campos and debuted on [Vuzu TV](/source/Vuzu)'s V-Entertainment on 19 July 2013.[11]
