**Gulsher Ahmed** (3 August 1921[1] – 20 May 2002[2]) was a leader of the [Indian National Congress](/source/Indian_National_Congress). He studied in England and became a barrister. He was speaker [Madhya Pradesh](/source/Madhya_Pradesh) Vidhan Sabha, [MLA](/source/Member_of_the_Legislative_Assembly_(India)) and also MP from [Satna Lok Sabha constituency](/source/Satna_Lok_Sabha_constituency). He was the [9th governor of Himachal Pradesh](/source/List_of_Governors_of_Himachal_Pradesh) in 1993. He hailed from [Madhya Pradesh](/source/Madhya_Pradesh). He contested from Amarpatan constituency for state assembly. He died in 2002 in Satna.

His son Sayeed Ahmad was also an MLA and became minister of state (finance and commercial tax).[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

Gulsher Ahmad had to resign from governor post when the Election Commission indicted him for campaigning for his son.[3]
