'''Grimfist''' is a Norwegian [blackened death metal](/source/blackened_death_metal) band from [Oslo](/source/Oslo). Founded in October 2001, they released two albums on [Candlelight Records](/source/Candlelight_Records).

==History==
The band's debut album, ''Ghouls of Grandeur'',  was recorded in Abyss Studios in [Sweden](/source/Sweden), March 2003, and was mixed by Peter Tägtgren. The record was well received by the critics, who noted the band's unique mix of [heavy metal](/source/Heavy_metal_music), [black metal](/source/black_metal) and [death metal](/source/death_metal). The collaboration was between guitarist Ole Walaunet (Deride), drummer Horgh ([Immortal](/source/Immortal_(band)), Hypocrisy), and vocalist Frediablo (ex-[Necrophagia](/source/Necrophagia), [Gorelord](/source/Gorelord), Hemnur).

Horgh left the band in 2004 to concentrate on his duties as [Hypocrisy](/source/Hypocrisy_(band))'s drummer. In 2005, Grimfist released their follow-up record, ''Ten Steps to Hell''. The record received 4/5 points in ''[Kerrang!](/source/Kerrang!)'' magazine.{{cn|date=May 2026}} Tours with [Susperia](/source/Susperia) and [Red Harvest](/source/Red_Harvest_(band)) followed.
