# Great Neck Point

**Great Neck Point** is a point of land and neighborhood on the [Lynnhaven River](/source/Lynnhaven_River) in [Virginia Beach](/source/Virginia_Beach), Virginia, United States. It is home to the [Adam Keeling House](/source/Adam_Keeling_House) and the Keeling family cemetery.[1]

Before the area was settled by the English colonists, [Chesepioc](/source/Chesepioc_(settlement)) was located at Great Neck Point. It was a village of the [Chesepians](/source/Chesepian), the [Native American](/source/Native_Americans_of_the_United_States) (American Indian) inhabitants of the area during the [Woodland Period](/source/Woodland_Period) and later prior to the arrival of the English settlers in 1607. [Archaeologists](/source/Archaeologist) and other persons have found numerous Native American artifacts, such as arrowheads, stone axes, pottery, beads, and skeletons in Great Neck Point.[2]
