The **Grantham River** is a river in the [Canterbury](/source/Canterbury%2C_New_Zealand) region of [New Zealand](/source/New_Zealand). It arises in the [Hanmer Range](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hanmer_Range&action=edit&redlink=1) near [Mount Miromiro](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mount_Miromiro&action=edit&redlink=1), in the [Hanmer Forest Park](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hanmer_Forest_Park&action=edit&redlink=1), and flows south-east into the [Waiau Uwha River](/source/Waiau_Uwha_River), which has its mouth on the [Pacific Ocean](/source/Pacific_Ocean).[1]

A thermal spring on the river is undeveloped.[2]

The Grantham River forms part of the Waiau Uwha catchment in North Canterbury.[3] It flows through predominantly natural hill country typical of the region’s braided river systems.
