Boston was born in Liverpool. After serving in the [Second World War](/source/Second_World_War) from 1939 to 1943 (when he was invalided out),<ref name="Chronicle">{{cite news |title=Mr. G.F. Boston was the [Conservative Party](/source/Conservative_Party_(UK)) candidate for [Gloucestershire West](/source/West_Gloucestershire_(UK_Parliament_constituency)) in the [1950 general election](/source/1950_United_Kingdom_general_election) and for [Crewe](/source/Crewe_(UK_Parliament_constituency)) in the [1955 general election](/source/1955_United_Kingdom_general_election). He killed himself with a shotgun at his London apartment in 1958.<ref name="Chronicle"/>
