**Gouzon** (ɡuzɔ̃; [Auvergnat](/source/Auvergnat_dialect): *Gosom*) is a [commune](/source/Communes_of_France) in the [Creuse](/source/Creuse) [department](/source/Departments_of_France) in central [France](/source/France). The commune is listed as a [Village étape](/source/Village_%C3%A9tape).[2]

## Geography

Gouzon is located about 28 kilometres (17 mi) east of [Guéret](/source/Gu%C3%A9ret) in the [Massif Central](/source/Massif_Central) on the river [Voueize](/source/Voueize), as well as its tributary [Goze](/source/Goze). The Route nationale 145 ([European route E62](/source/European_route_E62)) passes through the commune. The train station Parsac-Gouzon on the railroad line [Montluçon](/source/Montlu%C3%A7on) - [Saint-Sulpice-Laurière](/source/Saint-Sulpice-Lauri%C3%A8re) is located in the neighboring commune [Parsac-Rimondeix](/source/Parsac-Rimondeix).

## Economy

*Gouzon* is also a cheese made in the Limousin region.
