**Gouva** ([Greek](/source/Greek_language): Γούβα, pronounced [\[ˈɣu.va\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Greek)), also known as **Agios Artemios** ([Greek](/source/Greek_language): Άγιος Αρτέμιος, pronounced [\[ˈaʝos aɾˈte.mi.os\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Greek)) is a [neighborhood](/source/Neighborhood) of [Athens](/source/Athens), [Greece](/source/Greece).

It is located to the southeast of central Athens between the [First Cemetery of Athens](/source/First_Cemetery_of_Athens) and [Dafni](/source/Dafni%2C_Attica).

The district built at the beginning of the 20th century, initially by destitute Athenians. Later in this district were settled refugees from [Asia Minor](/source/Asia_Minor) and laborers from Greek countryside.[1]
