(These Sounds Fall into My Mind)" (1995) "Got Myself Together" (1995) "Time and Space" (1996)

"**Got Myself Together**" is a song by Kenny Dope's musical production team [the Bucketheads](/source/Kenny_%22Dope%22_Gonzalez), released in late 1995. It was the commercial follow-up to global hit "[The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall into My Mind)](/source/The_Bomb!_(These_Sounds_Fall_into_My_Mind))", and was the third single taken from the project's sole album, *[All in the Mind](/source/All_in_the_Mind_(album))* (1995).

While unable to reach the worldwide chart highs of its predecessor, the single was a club hit, reaching No. 1 on the US [*Billboard*](/source/Billboard_charts) [Hot Dance Club Play](/source/Hot_Dance_Club_Play) chart in January 1996, and a moderate commercial hit, reaching the top 10 in Finland and Sweden, and the top 20 in the UK. The track is considered a 1990s [house](/source/House_music) classic.[1]

## Background

"Got Myself Together" is a [disco](/source/Disco)-inspired house track based around a prominent sample of [Brass Construction](/source/Brass_Construction)'s 1976 hit, "[Movin'](/source/Movin'_(Brass_Construction_song))".[2] In Europe, the lead single version was a remix by British house group Hustlers Convention, an early alias of DJs [Michael Gray](/source/Michael_Gray_(DJ)) and [Jon Pearn](/source/Jon_Pearn), now known as [Full Intention](/source/Full_Intention).

In April 2019, [Positiva](/source/Positiva_Records) released a new remix by EJECA as part of its 25th anniversary series.[3] The remix gained heavy rotation from the likes of [Annie Mac](/source/Annie_Mac) and [Danny Howard](/source/Danny_Howard) on [BBC Radio 1](/source/BBC_Radio_1), and [The Black Madonna](/source/The_Black_Madonna).[4]

## Critical reception

[Charles Aaron](/source/Charles_Aaron) from *[Spin](/source/Spin_(magazine))* said that, in comparison to "The Bomb!", the single "gets knee-deeper in [jazzy](/source/Jazz) [acid-funk](/source/Acid-funk)."[5]

## Music video

Like its predecessor, the music video for "Got Myself Together" was directed by [Guy Ritchie](/source/Guy_Ritchie) and [Alex de Rakoff](/source/Alex_de_Rakoff).[6] The video features a Londoner en route to [Heathrow Airport](/source/Heathrow_Airport), stopping at sights including [Buckingham Palace](/source/Buckingham_Palace) and [Piccadilly Circus](/source/Piccadilly_Circus), before arriving in New York in search of a disco club.
