==Distribution==
First only described from [Tajikistan](/source/Tajikistan), the genus now also contains species from [North Africa](/source/North_Africa), the [Canary Islands](/source/Canary_Islands), and [Uzbekistan](/source/Uzbekistan).<ref name=wsc/>

==Etymology==
The name is a combination of "Gorbi", the nickname for [Mikhail Gorbachev](/source/Mikhail_Gorbachev), and the ending of ''[Agelescape](/source/Agelescape)'', to which it is similar.<ref name=Zama2020 />
