# Gopinath Chandran

**Gopinath Chandran** is an Indian television anchor, radio jockey, journalist, reporter, news presenter/moderator,[1] entrepreneur,[1][2] and a writer, currently featured on the [STAR Vijay](/source/STAR_Vijay) debate show *[Neeya Naana](/source/Neeya_Naana)*. He is popularly known as "Neeya Naana Gopinath."[citation needed]

## Early life

Gopinath was born in [Aranthangi](/source/Aranthangi), [Pudukkottai district](/source/Pudukkottai_district), [Tamil Nadu](/source/Tamil_Nadu) to Chandran and Kumudham Chandran in 1975.[3] His elder brother Prabhakaran Chandran is also an actor.[4]

## Career

Gopinath began his career in 1997 with United Television and later, he went on to join [Raj Television Network](/source/Raj_Television_Network). He did reporting assignments for [Jaya TV](/source/Jaya_TV), [NDTV](/source/NDTV) and CNBC TV-18.[5]
