**Gopalganj-1** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh).

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Muksudpur Upazila](/source/Muksudpur_Upazila) and seven [union parishads](/source/Union_Parishad) of [Kashiani Upazila](/source/Kashiani_Upazila): Kashiani, Mamudpur, Maheshpur, Parulia, Rajpat, Ratail, and Sajail.[2][3]

## History

The constituency was created in 1984 from a Faridpur constituency when the former Faridpur District was split into five districts: [Rajbari](/source/Rajbari_District), [Faridpur](/source/Faridpur_District), [Gopalganj](/source/Gopalganj_District%2C_Bangladesh), [Madaripur](/source/Madaripur_District), and [Shariatpur](/source/Shariatpur_District).[4]
