'''''Gocea ohridana''''' is a species of [freshwater snail](/source/freshwater_snail) within the family [Hydrobiidae](/source/Hydrobiidae)<ref>{{Cite web |title=WoRMS - World Register of Marine Species - Gocea ohridana Hadžišče, 1956 |url=https://www.marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1000549 |access-date=2022-12-10 |website=www.marinespecies.org}}</ref> and the only species in the genus '''''Gocea'''''.<ref>{{cite WoRMS |year=2025 |title=''Gocea'' Hadžišče, 1956 |id=1000075 |access-date=29 November 2025 |db=MolluscaBase}}</ref> It is found in [Lake Ohrid](/source/Lake_Ohrid), [North Macedonia](/source/North_Macedonia), in a small area of less than {{convert|10|km2|mi2}}. It lives in rocky areas along the shores of Lake Ohrid, being found in sublacustrine springs underneath stones as deep as {{convert|3|m|sp=us}} below the water's surface. It faces threats such as [deforestation](/source/deforestation) leading to erosion that can impact the snail's ability to filter water; [pollution](/source/pollution) from [sewage](/source/sewage) coming from major cities adjacent to the lake and from agricultural runoff into hydrologically connected [Lake Prespa](/source/Lake_Prespa); and an increase in fire hazards in the region. Because of its strict range, low abundance in findings, and threats to its specific environment, it has been classified as a '[Critically endangered](/source/Critically_Endangered)' species by the [IUCN Red List](/source/IUCN_Red_List).<ref name=iucnredlist/>
