# Gitte Krogh

**Gitte Krogh** (born 13 May 1977) is a Danish former [football](/source/Association_football) [forward](/source/Forward_(association_football)). She was part of the [Denmark women's national football team](/source/Denmark_women's_national_football_team).

She competed at the [1996 Summer Olympics](/source/Football_at_the_1996_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_tournament), playing three matches.[2]

After playing for Denmark in their 1–0 [UEFA Women's Euro 2001](/source/UEFA_Women's_Euro_2001) semi-final defeat by [Sweden](/source/Sweden_women's_national_football_team), Krogh made a shock retirement from football at the age of 24.[3][4]

## International career

Krogh made her debut for the senior [Denmark](/source/Denmark_women's_national_football_team) team as a 17-year-old, in a 1–0 [friendly](/source/Exhibition_game) defeat by the [Netherlands](/source/Netherlands_women's_national_football_team) in [Hoogezand](/source/Hoogezand) on 14 September 1994. She scored three goals at the [1995 FIFA Women's World Cup](/source/1995_FIFA_Women's_World_Cup),[1] and a tournament preview of the [1999 FIFA Women's World Cup](/source/1999_FIFA_Women's_World_Cup) on the SoccerTimes.com website described her as a "top striker".[5]
