The **Girango people** (also known as **JoSuba** or **Joka-Kombe**) is a group of [Luo people](/source/Luo_people) who fall in the group known as [Joka Jok](/source/Acholi_people). They include the [Suna](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Suna_people&action=edit&redlink=1)/[Suba](/source/Suba_people_(Kenya)), [Wategi](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wategi&action=edit&redlink=1)/Kamagambo-Kanying'ombe, [Wagire](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wagire&action=edit&redlink=1), [JoKasgunga](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=JoKasgunga&action=edit&redlink=1), [JoSidho](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=JoSidho&action=edit&redlink=1), [JoKabar](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=JoKabar&action=edit&redlink=1), [JoMur](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=JoMur&action=edit&redlink=1), [JoKiseru](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=JoKiseru&action=edit&redlink=1) etc. They migrated to [Kenya](/source/Kenya) from northern [Uganda](/source/Uganda), and are believed to be the brothers of the Simbiti. However, the Simbiti were absorbed into [Kuria](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kuria_(ethnic_group)&action=edit&redlink=1) community, and that is why the people of Kuria have diverse origins. Some historians tend to use the *Bunchari* dialect of the Kuria spoken by the [Simbiti](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Simbiti&action=edit&redlink=1), as well as the Kuria culture followed by the Simbiti to discuss the Girango people.[1][2]
