# Gilbert East

**Gilbert East** (1763–1865) was an English [cricketer](/source/Cricket) of the late 18th century who played mainly for [Berkshire](/source/Berkshire_county_cricket_team_(18th_century)), Oldfield, and the [White Conduit Club](/source/White_Conduit_Club). He played in 12 matches between 1786 and 1794.[1]

East succeeded to the [East Baronetcy](/source/East_baronets) of Hall Place, [Maidenhead](/source/Maidenhead) in 1819 on the death of his father, Sir William East.[1][2] He is buried at [Hurley, Berkshire](/source/Hurley,_Berkshire) with a monument by [James Sherwood Westmacott](/source/James_Sherwood_Westmacott).[3]
