**Gibson Bay** is an arm of the [Foxe Basin](/source/Foxe_Basin) in the [Qikiqtaaluk Region](/source/Qikiqtaaluk_Region) of [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut), Canada. It is located on the northern coast of [Foxe Peninsula](/source/Foxe_Peninsula), in western [Baffin Island](/source/Baffin_Island). The closest community is [Kinngait](/source/Kinngait), situated 123 km (76 mi) to the south,[2] while [Nuwata](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nuwata&action=edit&redlink=1), a former settlement, is situated 77 km (48 mi)[3] to the west. It is fed by the Kommanik River whose headwaters are at Kavivan Lake, 5 mi (8.0 km) to the southeast.[4] Within the bay, there is a small island chain.[5]
