"**Ghost Dancing**" is a song written by [Jim Kerr](/source/Jim_Kerr), [Charlie Burchill](/source/Charlie_Burchill) and [Mick MacNeil](/source/Mick_MacNeil) and recorded by Scottish rock band [Simple Minds](/source/Simple_Minds).[2] It was released as the fourth [single](/source/Single_(music)) from the band's 1985 [album](/source/Album) [*Once Upon a Time*](/source/Once_Upon_a_Time_(Simple_Minds_album)).[3] According to the band's website, the first live performance of the song was at [John F. Kennedy Stadium](/source/John_F._Kennedy_Stadium_(Philadelphia)) as part of their [Live Aid](/source/Live_Aid) performance.[4] The song also appears on their "[Glittering Prize (81-92)](/source/Glittering_Prize_81%2F92)" album. The song reached number 13 in the [UK singles charts](/source/UK_singles_charts).[5]
