**Geri X** (born 6 May 1989)[1] is a [Bulgarian](/source/Bulgaria)-born singer-songwriter whose music shows influences of several genres including [folk](/source/Folk_music), [psychedelic rock](/source/Psychedelic_rock), [Americana](/source/Americana_music), and [post-rock](/source/Post-rock).

## Early life

Geri X was born in [Bulgaria](/source/Bulgaria), then grew up in [Pleven](/source/Pleven) and [Versailles](/source/Versailles_(city)).

## Career

In 2001[clarification needed] and began her ascent to become one of Tampa Bay's beloved artist. She has won [Creative Loafing](/source/Creative_Loafing)[2]'s Best Singer Songwriter twice. In 2011 Geri X was named "Best of Indie" in the Bulgarian edition of *[Rolling Stone](/source/Rolling_Stone)*[3]’s "Best of Rock”

Geri provides vocals in a duet with former [Kinks](/source/Kinks) lead guitarist [Dave Davies](/source/Dave_Davies), on the song "When I First Saw You" on his album *It Will Be Me*, which was released in June 2013 on [Cleopatra Records](/source/Cleopatra_Records).
