# Geraldton Sandplains

**Geraldton Sandplains** is an [interim Australian bioregion](/source/Interim_Biogeographic_Regionalisation_for_Australia) of [Western Australia](/source/Western_Australia).[1] It has an area of 3,142,149 hectares (7,764,420 acres).[2] The Geraldton Sandplains is part of the larger [Southwest Australia savanna](/source/Southwest_Australia_savanna) ecoregion, as assessed by the [World Wildlife Fund](/source/World_Wildlife_Fund).[3]
