'''George Hanlon''' (July 1917 – 28 January 2010) was an Australian race [horse trainer](/source/horse_trainer). Born in [South Australia](/source/South_Australia), he was inducted in the [Australian Racing Hall of Fame](/source/Australian_Racing_Hall_of_Fame) in 2002.
Hanlon trained three [Melbourne Cup](/source/Melbourne_Cup) winners; [Piping Lane](/source/Piping_Lane) in 1972, [Arwon](/source/Arwon) in 1978 and [Black Knight](/source/Black_Knight_(horse)) in 1984.[{{cite news
