**Geoffrey Hellman** (born August 16, 1943[2]) is an American professor and philosopher. He is Professor of [Philosophy](/source/Philosophy) at the [University of Minnesota](/source/University_of_Minnesota) in [Minneapolis, Minnesota](/source/Minneapolis%2C_Minnesota).[3] He obtained his B.A. (1965) and Ph.D. (1972) degrees in philosophy from [Harvard University](/source/Harvard_University). He was elected to the [American Academy of Arts and Sciences](/source/American_Academy_of_Arts_and_Sciences) in 2007.
