**Genex Power** is an [Australian](/source/Australia) electricity generation company.

The firm owns the [Kidston Solar Project](/source/Kidston_Solar_Project)[1] which has been generating up to 50 MW of electricity since 2017, as well as the Jemalong Solar Project.[2] It is developing the associated [Kidston Pumped Hydro](/source/Kidston_Dam#Hydroelectric_power_station) storage[3] using the abandoned [Kidston Gold Mine](/source/Kidston_Gold_Mine); and a [grid battery](/source/Battery_energy_storage_system) and [wind farm](/source/Wind_farm) is being considered as part of a clean energy hub.[4]

Genex Power also operates the [Bouldercombe](/source/Bouldercombe) 50MW/100MWh battery,[5] located near [Rockhampton](/source/Rockhampton). The company is also proposing to expand the solar farm and add a wind farm in the same area,[6] as well as a solar farm and battery at [Bulli Creek](/source/Bulli_Creek%2C_Queensland), Queensland.[7]

In 2024, it was announced that the [Japanese](/source/Japan) [J-Power](/source/J-Power) had completed the purchase of the Australian company in a deal valued at $228 million.[8]
