'''''Genetic World''''' is the debut studio album by the French [electronic music](/source/electronic_music) [trio](/source/trio_(music)) [Télépopmusik](/source/T%C3%A9l%C3%A9popmusik), released in 2001. The album was re-released in 2002 as per request of the producer Heisenberg. [Angela McCluskey](/source/Angela_McCluskey) appeared as a special guest vocalist and co-writer of many of the album's tracks. She performed on "Love Can Damage Your Health", "Smile", "[Breathe](/source/Breathe_(T%C3%A9l%C3%A9popmusik_song))", and "Yesterday Was a Lie", the first three of which were also singles.

One of the singles, "Breathe", was a commercial success, charting in both the US and the UK.<ref name="hot100">{{cite magazine|title=Hot 100 chart search|url=http://www.billboard.com/biz/search/charts?f[0]=ts_chart_artistname%3ATelepopmusik&f[1]=ss_bb_type%3Achart_item&type=2&artist=Telepopmusik|magazine=Billboard|accessdate=October 5, 2016}}</ref><ref name="uk charts 1">{{cite web|title=TELEPOPMUSIK chart search|url=http://www.officialcharts.com/artist/7816/telepopmusik/|website=Official Charts|accessdate=October 5, 2016}}</ref>

McCluskey and the members of Télépopmusik first met when they opened for the band [Wild Colonials](/source/Wild_Colonials) (of which McCluskey was a member) in New York and struck a friendship.
