**Gene A Mueller** (born February 28, 1942) was the [Mayor](/source/Mayoralty_in_the_United_States) of [Lewiston, Idaho](/source/Lewiston,_Idaho) for ten years from 1982 to 1992 and is an American [historian](/source/Historian) and [author](/source/Author).

Mueller was born in [Milwaukee, Wisconsin](/source/Milwaukee,_Wisconsin) and is considered an expert in two areas of history, American [Nez Perce](/source/Nez_Perce_tribe) Indian Culture and 20th Century [Europe](/source/Europe), specifically [Hitler](/source/Hitler)'s [generals](/source/General). He has published several books. He has taught at the [Lewis–Clark State College](/source/Lewis%E2%80%93Clark_State_College) in Lewiston, [Henderson State University](/source/Henderson_State_University) at [Arkadelphia](/source/Arkadelphia), [Arkansas](/source/Arkansas), and [Texas A&M University–Texarkana](/source/Texas_A%26M_University%E2%80%93Texarkana).
