'''Gavin Morgan''' (born July 9, 1976) is a Canadian professional [ice hockey](/source/ice_hockey) [forward](/source/forward_(ice_hockey)). He played six games in the [National Hockey League](/source/National_Hockey_League) for the [Dallas Stars](/source/Dallas_Stars) during the [2003–04 season](/source/2003%E2%80%9304_NHL_season). The rest of his career, which lasted from 1999 to 2010, was mainly spent in the minor [American Hockey League](/source/American_Hockey_League). After his playing career Morgan worked as an assistant coach with the [University of Alabama-Huntsville](/source/Alabama%E2%80%93Huntsville_Chargers_men's_ice_hockey) for several years.

Morgan started his career with the junior hockey team [Wexford Raiders](/source/Wexford_Raiders) in 1992. He graduated from the [University of Denver](/source/University_of_Denver), where he played four seasons with the [Denver Pioneers](/source/Denver_Pioneers), in 1999.{{cn|date=February 2019}}

Morgan made his professional début in the 1999–00 season, when he split his time between the [IHL](/source/International_Hockey_League_(1945-01))'s [Utah Grizzlies](/source/Utah_Grizzlies_(1995%E2%80%932005)), [Long Beach Ice Dogs](/source/Long_Beach_Ice_Dogs) and [WCHL](/source/West_Coast_Hockey_League)'s [Idaho Steelheads](/source/Idaho_Steelheads), before earning a regular roster spot with Utah in 2000–01.{{cn|date=February 2019}}

He went on to play three seasons with Utah before joining the [AHL](/source/American_Hockey_League)'s [Hershey Bears](/source/Hershey_Bears) in 2003–04. In the summer of 2004 Morgan was acquired by the [Montreal Canadiens](/source/Montreal_Canadiens), but was immediately sent to the AHL and the [Hamilton Bulldogs](/source/Hamilton_Bulldogs_(AHL)). He played one season for the Bulldogs, before moving to Switzerland and [Basel](/source/EHC_Basel). He went back to the AHL, playing for the [Peoria Rivermen](/source/Peoria_Rivermen_(AHL)) and the [Rockford IceHogs](/source/Rockford_IceHogs), in between a short spell at Austrian team [Vienna Capitals](/source/Vienna_Capitals).
