# Gavin Mogopa

**Gavin Mogopa** (born 2 April 1996) is a Botswana [judoka](/source/Judo).[1] He competed at the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/2016_Summer_Olympics) in [Rio de Janeiro](/source/Rio_de_Janeiro), in the [men's 60 kg](/source/Judo_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_60_kg), where he was defeated by [Pavel Petřikov](/source/Pavel_Pet%C5%99ikov_(Czech_judoka_born_1986)) in the second round.[2]

In 2014, he competed in the [boys' 55 kg](/source/Judo_at_the_2014_Summer_Youth_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Boys'_55_kg) event at the [2014 Summer Youth Olympics](/source/2014_Summer_Youth_Olympics) held in Nanjing, China.[3] He lost his bronze medal match against [Jorre Verstraeten](/source/Jorre_Verstraeten) of Belgium.[3]
