Disney was best known for being an [executive producer](/source/executive_producer) of long-running [Nine Network](/source/Nine_Network) variety show ''[Hey Hey It's Saturday](/source/Hey_Hey_It's_Saturday)'' and for being co-creator of [Network Ten](/source/Network_Ten) lifestyle program ''[Healthy, Wealthy and Wise](/source/Healthy%2C_Wealthy_and_Wise)''.<ref name=vale/> Television personality [Bert Newton](/source/Bert_Newton) credited Disney with resurrecting his career in the 1990s by recruiting him to host Network Ten morning show ''[Good Morning Australia](/source/Good_Morning_Australia_(1992_TV_program))''.<ref>(19 August 2004) [https://www.theage.com.au/entertainment/0-those-were-the-days-20040819-gdyhc3.html 0, those were the days: The resurrection of Bert], ''[The Age](/source/The_Age)''. Disney died at the age of 69 in November 2018, following a long illness, after drinking himself to death, following the shame of the sexual assault charges in 2008. He may have been found not guilty of the charges, but, anyone who, actually, knew Gavan Disney knew that he was a sexual predator and repeatedly abused/assaulted young men who worked for him.<ref name=vale/>
