# Gary Hunley

**Gary Hunley** is an American film and television actor.[1] He is known for playing Mickey in the final season of the American [western](/source/Western_(genre)) television series *[Sky King](/source/Sky_King)*.[2]

## Early life and career

In 1954 Hunley appeared in the [anthology](/source/Anthology_series) television series *[The Pepsi-Cola Playhouse](/source/The_Pepsi-Cola_Playhouse)*. In 1956, he appeared in the "Faro Bill's Layout" episode of the [anthology](/source/Anthology_series) television series *[Death Valley Days](/source/Death_Valley_Days)*.[3] Hunley appeared in further television programs including *[Studio 57](/source/Studio_57)*, *[Sugarfoot](/source/Sugarfoot)*, *[Leave It to Beaver](/source/Leave_It_to_Beaver)* (1961; S4E19; “Beaver’s Old Buddy”), *[Dragnet](/source/Dragnet_(1951_TV_series))*, *[Alfred Hitchcock Presents](/source/Alfred_Hitchcock_Presents)* (2 episodes), *[Dr. Kildare](/source/Dr._Kildare_(TV_series))*, *[Cimarron City](/source/Cimarron_City_(TV_series))* and *[Wagon Train](/source/Wagon_Train)*.[4] In 1959, he made an appearance as Deputy Clay McCord's young brother Brandon McCord in the [western](/source/Western_(genre)) television series *[The Deputy](/source/The_Deputy_(TV_series))*.[5]

Hunley played Little Sanfran in the [anthology](/source/Anthology_series) television series *[Panic!](/source/Panic!_(TV_series))*. In 1959, he played the role of Mickey in the final season of the western television series *[Sky King](/source/Sky_King)*. His film credits include *[The Unholy Wife](/source/The_Unholy_Wife)* (as Michael), *[Carnival Rock](/source/Carnival_Rock)*, *[The Big Operator](/source/The_Big_Operator_(1959_film))* and *[The Legend of Tom Dooley](/source/The_Legend_of_Tom_Dooley)* (as The Kid).[4][6]
