# Gary Giles

**Gary Giles** (12 January 1940 – 5 February 2014) was a New Zealand [cricketer](/source/Cricket). He played 25 [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) matches for [Northern Districts](/source/Northern_Districts_men's_cricket_team) between 1961 and 1976.[1] In the 1965/66 season, he earned a call-up to the [New Zealand team](/source/New_Zealand_national_cricket_team) and was [12th man](/source/Glossary_of_cricket_terms#twelfth_man) for a [Test match](/source/Test_cricket) against the [touring England side](/source/English_cricket_team_in_New_Zealand_in_1965%E2%80%9366).[2]
