==Writing==
In 1971, Allen co-wrote a book titled ''None Dare Call It Conspiracy'' with [Larry Abraham](/source/Larry_H._Abraham). It was prefaced by [U.S. representative](/source/U.S._Representative) [John G. Schmitz](/source/John_G._Schmitz) of [California's 35th congressional district](/source/California's_35th_congressional_district), the nominee of the [American Independent Party](/source/American_Independent_Party) in the [1972 U.S. presidential election](/source/U.S._presidential_election%2C_1972). It sold more than four million copies<ref>Wallis W. In this book, Allen and Abraham assert that the modern political and economic systems in most developed nations are the result of a sweeping conspiracy by [the Establishment](/source/the_Establishment)'s [power elite](/source/power_elite), for which he also uses the term ''Insiders''. According to the authors, these ''Insiders'' use elements of [Karl Marx](/source/Karl_Marx)'s ''[Communist Manifesto](/source/Communist_Manifesto)'' to forward their socialist/communist agenda:

# Establish an [income tax](/source/income_tax) system as a means of extorting money from the common man;
# Establish a [central bank](/source/central_bank), deceptively named so that people will think it is part of the government;
# Have this bank be the holder of the [national debt](/source/national_debt);
# Run the national debt, and the interest thereon, sky high through wars (or any sort of [deficit spending](/source/deficit_spending)), starting with [World War I](/source/World_War_I).<ref>[Michael Billig](/source/Michael_Billig) and Jovan Byford, "The emergence of antisemitic conspiracy theories in Yugoslavia during the war with NATO", ''[Patterns of Prejudice](/source/Patterns_of_Prejudice)'', October 2001</ref>

He quotes the [Council on Foreign Relations](/source/Council_on_Foreign_Relations) as stating in its 1959 No. 7 study on behalf of the [United States Senate](/source/United_States_Senate): "The U.S. must strive to: A. Build a new international order."<ref>[https://archive.org/download/basic-aims-of-united-states-foreign-policy.-study-prepared-at-the-request-of-the/Basic%20Aims%20of%20United%20States%20Foreign%20Policy.%20Study%20prepared%20at%20the%20request%20of%20the%20Committee%20on%20Foreign%20Relations%2C%20United%20States%20Senate%2C%20by%20Council%20on%20Foreign%20Relations%20%5BNo.%207%5D%20%28November%2025%2C%201959%29.pdf ''Basic Aims of United States Foreign Policy''.] Study Prepared at the Request of the [Committee on Foreign Relations](/source/Committee_on_Foreign_Relations), [United States Senate](/source/United_States_Senate), by [Council on Foreign Relations](/source/Council_on_Foreign_Relations). In February 1980, Allen began a working relationship with research assistant Sam Wells, whose work Allen's writings would depend upon until his death.<ref>North, Gary. "Extremism in the Pursuit of Historical Truth." [https://www.garynorth.com/ ''garynorth.com''], January 13, 2016. Allen wrote other books about the [Council on Foreign Relations](/source/Council_on_Foreign_Relations) and the [Trilateral Commission](/source/Trilateral_Commission), asserting that the term [''New World Order''](/source/New_World_Order_(conspiracy_theory)) was used by a secretive elite working towards the destruction of [national sovereignty](/source/national_sovereignty). Allen's last book, ''Say "No!" to the New World Order'', was published posthumously in January 1987.
