He is currently manager of club [Canvey Island](/source/Canvey_Island_F.C.). ## Career Kimble, along with his twin brother [Alan](/source/Alan_Kimble), started his career as a trainee at [Charlton Athletic](/source/Charlton_Athletic_F.C.) where he made his league debut, going on to play nine times, scoring once. Both he and his brother then had brief loan spells with [Exeter City](/source/Exeter_City_F.C.) before the pair of them joined [Cambridge United](/source/Cambridge_United_F.C.) on free transfers in July 1986. Whilst brother Alan went on to spend seven years at The [Abbey Stadium](/source/Abbey_Stadium), Garry spent just over a year with the club, making 41 appearances, mainly from the left wing, and scoring twice. He was sold to [Doncaster Rovers](/source/Doncaster_Rovers_F.C.) for [£](/source/Pound_sterling)7,500 and went on to be a regular in their team, making 65 appearances with a solitary goal.[2] After a brief spell with [Fulham](/source/Fulham_F.C.) he signed for [Gillingham](/source/Gillingham_F.C) where he played 48 games, scoring once before moving to [Peterborough United](/source/Peterborough_United_F.C.). It was while there that Kimble had his finest moment as he scored the winning goal for Posh in a 1–0 [Football League Cup](/source/Football_League_Cup) win over [Liverpool](/source/Liverpool_F.C.) in December 1991 to catapult him into the national sports headlines.[3] Following his spell with Peterborough, Kimble dropped into the [non-League](/source/Non-League_football) game and played for a number of clubs.[2] ## Management Kimble's first step into management came in February 2004, when he was appointed [Tilbury](/source/Tilbury_F.C.) manager on a caretaker basis until the end of the 2003–04 season.[4] Kimble left Burnham and was appointed assistant manager of [Isthmian League](/source/Isthmian_League) Premier Division club [Aveley](/source/Aveley_F.C.) in May 2010, where his twin brother, [Alan](/source/Alan_Kimble) was appointed as manager.[5] In April 2011 he became manager of [Witham Town](/source/Witham_Town_F.C.).[6][7] Under Kimble's stewardship Witham Town enjoyed two promotions in three years to take the club from the [Essex Senior League](/source/Essex_Senior_Football_League) to the Isthmian League Premier Division,[8] although they were relegated back to Division One North of the Isthmian League at the end of the [2014–15 season](/source/2014%E2%80%9315_Isthmian_League). On 28 February 2016 he left the club after winning just two games out of their last 18 in the [Isthmian League Division One North](/source/Isthmian_League). In July 2018 he was appointed manager of [Great Wakering Rovers](/source/Great_Wakering_Rovers_F.C.).[9] He left the club in January 2019.
