## Early life

The Garrihys came from [Castleknock](/source/Castleknock), [County Dublin](/source/County_Dublin), the daughters of Eugene and Clare. Eugene is now an [entrepreneur](/source/Entrepreneur), the director of [ferry](/source/Ferry) companies Dublin Bay Cruises and Doolin2Aran.[8]

## Aoibhín

Aoibhín (born 20 June 1987)[9] has acting credits including *[Fair City](/source/Fair_City)*,[2] *[Love/Hate](/source/Love%2FHate_(TV_series))*,[10] and *[Mattie](/source/Mattie_(TV_Series))*.[11]

In 2017, Garrihy was a contestant in the [first series](/source/Dancing_with_the_Stars_(Irish_series_1)) of [RTÉ](/source/RT%C3%89)'s [*Dancing with the Stars*](/source/Dancing_with_the_Stars_(Irish_TV_series)). On 26 March 2017, she reached the final of the competition with her professional partner, [Vitali Kozmin](/source/Vitali_Kozmin). They finished as runners-up to [Aidan O'Mahony](/source/Aidan_O'Mahony) and Kozmin's wife, [Valeria Milova](/source/Valeria_Milova).[12]

In 2018, she was a guest chef on [TV3](/source/TV3_(Ireland))'s *[The Restaurant](/source/The_Restaurant_(Irish_TV_series))*.[13]

She lives in County Clare with husband, John Burke, and their three daughters, Hanora, Líobhan & Isla. In November 2025, she announced she was expecting her fourth child.[14]

## Ailbhe

Ailbhe (born 19 April 1990) is a graduate of [Dublin City University](/source/Dublin_City_University). She now works for the family business, Dublin Bay Cruises.[15] She resides in Meath with her husband and their three sons, Seán, Fionn & Cian.[16]

## Doireann

Doireann (born 19 May 1992)[17] is the [god daughter](/source/God_daughter) of radio presenter [Ian Dempsey](/source/Ian_Dempsey).[8][18] Doireann graduated from [Trinity College Dublin](/source/Trinity_College_Dublin) with a degree in Drama and Theatre studies.[8] She worked as an [entertainment reporter](/source/Entertainment_reporter) on [Spin 1038](/source/Spin_1038) and provided traffic reports for 2fm with AA Roadwatch.[8][19] Having amassed a following on social media she was commissioned by [RTÉ](/source/RT%C3%89) to make a [web series](/source/Web_series), *The Doireann Project*,[5] based on her impressions. She has won awards such as 'Most Stylish Influencer' at the [VIP Style Awards](/source/VIP_Style_Awards) and U magazine's 30 under 30 'Rising Star'.[8] She began presenting *[The Podge and Rodge Show](/source/The_Podge_and_Rodge_Show)* in 2018 until 2019.[7]

In 2019 she started a podcast called 'The Laughs of Your Life with Doireann Garrihy'. It lasted 4 years and more than 70 guests appeared on it.[20] She hosted a live version of the show in 2023.[21]

In June 2019, Doireann presented [the new breakfast show](/source/The_RT%C3%89_2fm_Breakfast_Show) on [RTÉ 2fm](/source/RT%C3%89_2fm) from 6am to 9am alongside [Eoghan McDermott](/source/Eoghan_McDermott).[22][23][24] She continued to present the show with [Carl Mullan](/source/Carl_Mullan) and [Donncha O'Callaghan](/source/Donncha_O'Callaghan) until May 2024.[25][26][27]

In October 2022, Doireann was announced as the new co-host of *[Dancing with the Stars](/source/Dancing_with_the_Stars_(Irish_TV_series))* alongside [Jennifer Zamparelli](/source/Jennifer_Zamparelli).[28]

Separate from her work with RTÉ, Doireann is a "brand ambassador" for [Renault](/source/Renault), a deal arranged by her agent, [Noel Kelly](/source/Noel_Kelly_(agent)) of NK Management. As of 2023, her most recent car was a [Renault Arkana](/source/Renault_Arkana), retailing at more than €30,000; in a sponsored post for Renault, Doireann claimed it was her "new love".[29]

Doireann began a deal worth thousands of euro to promote [Flahavan's](/source/Flahavan's) in February 2022, when she was paid to post on social media; however, this got Doireann into trouble when she used an RTÉ studio without permission to promote Flahavan's products; for a year and half, Doireann refused RTÉ's attempts to take the promotion down, until it was noticed by a newspaper in 2023.[30]

Doireann was paid to chair a [Dáil Éireann](/source/D%C3%A1il_%C3%89ireann) conference at [Dublin Castle](/source/Dublin_Castle) on participation in politics; she admitted that she was unaware why she had been asked to do this.[31]

In addition to her work with RTÉ and other brands, TD [Catherine Murphy](/source/Catherine_Murphy_(politician)) stated in [Dáil Éireann](/source/D%C3%A1il_%C3%89ireann) that the publicly-funded [Horse Racing Ireland](/source/Horse_Racing_Ireland) paid €20,000 to Doireann Garrihy to promote the [Cheltenham Festival](/source/Cheltenham_Festival) – "an event in another jurisdiction".[32]

RTÉ used boats owned by the Garrihy family business, Dublin Bay Cruises, to host parties.[33]

On 30 November 2023, Doireann announced her engagement to her boyfriend, Irish comedian Mark Mehigan.[34] They got married in November 2024.[35] They welcomed their first child, a baby girl in October 2025.[36]

In May 2024, she announced that she would be leaving her morning radio show on [RTÉ 2fm](/source/RT%C3%89_2fm) at the end of May after five years.[37] In January 2025, it was announced that she would be returning to RTÉ 2fm in February as the presenter of the new [Drive time](/source/Drive_time) show on the station.[38][39] She moved timeslots to host "2FM Mornings with Doireann Garrihy" in May 2026.[40][41]
