The '''Garan Dam''' ([Persian](/source/Persian_language): سد گاران) is an earth-fill [embankment dam](/source/embankment_dam) on the Garan River, a tributary of the [Sirvan River](/source/Sirvan_River), about {{Convert|15|km|mi|abbr=on}} northeast of [Marivan](/source/Marivan) in [Kurdistan Province](/source/Kurdistan_Province), [Iran](/source/Iran). Construction on the dam began in 2002 and it was inaugurated by Iranian President [Mahmoud Ahmadinejad](/source/Mahmoud_Ahmadinejad) on 12 April 2013. It is {{Convert|62|m|ft|abbr=on}} tall and impounds a reservoir with a storage capacity of {{Convert|110000000|m3|acre.ft|abbr=on}}. The primary purpose of the dam is to supply water for the irrigation of {{Convert|10450|ha|acre|abbr=on}} in [Marivan County](/source/Marivan_County).
