The '''Gamegun''' (styled '''GAMEGUN''' on its packaging) is the only [light gun](/source/light_gun) released for the [3DO](/source/3DO) [video game console](/source/video_game_console). It was released in 1994 by [American Laser Games](/source/American_Laser_Games), developers of [full motion video](/source/full_motion_video)-based shooter games. The Gamegun is styled exactly like the [Peacekeeper Revolver](/source/Peacekeeper_Revolver), a light gun for the [CD-i](/source/CD-i) also released by American Laser Games, except with a notable color difference. The peripheral came in two versions: one player and two-player. The only difference between the two is that the two-player version, which was released in 1995, came with an attached y-connector end, allowing two players to plug in two light guns to play simultaneously.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.3dotoday.com/Accessories/gamegunr.jpg |title=American Laser Games Gamegun 3DO rear package art|access-date=2011-01-06}}</ref><ref>{{cite magazine|date=May 1995|title=Get Ready to Draw with New Game Gun|url=https://retrocdn.net/images/d/d6/EGM_US_070.pdf|magazine=[Electronic Gaming Monthly](/source/Electronic_Gaming_Monthly)|publisher=[Ziff Davis](/source/Ziff_Davis)|issue=70|page=28}}</ref> With the one player version, the gun could be [daisy chained](/source/daisy_chain_(information_technology)) with a regular 3DO controller, allowing another player to use the gamepad at the same time.
