'''Galeb''' ({{literal translation|seagull}}) was an [8-bit](/source/8-bit) [computer](/source/computer) developed by the PEL Varaždin company in [Yugoslavia](/source/Yugoslavia) in the early 1980s.<ref name=":1">{{Cite web |title=Galeb PEL Varazdin |url=https://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?st=1&c=1048 |access-date=2023-07-21 |website=www.old-computers.com}}</ref><ref name=":0">{{Cite web |last=Kovač |first=Robert |date=2005 |title=Galeb Opis |url=https://starine.rkovac.com/index.php?id=43 |access-date=2023-08-17 |website=Računalniške starine|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20070930021209/https://starine.rkovac.com/index.php?id=43 |archive-date=2007-09-30 }}</ref> A grand total of 250 were produced by the end of the summer of 1984, before being replaced with the [Orao](/source/Orao_(computer)).<ref name=":0" />

Galeb was designed by Miroslav Kocjan<ref name=":0" /><ref>{{Cite web |last=ko_admin |date=2007-01-22 |title=Opening of the PEEK&POKE museum |url=https://www.peekpoke.hr/opening-of-the-museum/ |access-date=2023-08-17 |website=PEEK&POKE |language=en-US}}</ref> and inspired by [Compukit UK101](/source/Compukit_UK101), [Ohio Scientific](/source/Ohio_Scientific) [Superboard](/source/Ohio_Scientific_Superboard) and [Superboard II](/source/Ohio_Scientific_Superboard_II) computers. These machines appeared in the [UK](/source/United_Kingdom) and [USA](/source/United_States) in 1979 and were less expensive than [Apple II](/source/Apple_II), [Commodore PET](/source/Commodore_PET) and/or [TRS-80](/source/TRS-80) computers. Galeb's codename YU 101 was chosen to resemble Compukit's UK101.<ref>{{Cite news |date=15 February 2013 |title=Miroslav Kocijan – pionir hrvatskog računarstva |work=ZG-Magazin |url=https://zg-magazin.com.hr/miroslav-kocijan-pionir-hrvatskoga-racunarstva/}}</ref>

Galeb was very similar to computers that inspired it:
