== History ==
It was started in 1993 as part of [Universidade Gama Filho](/source/Universidade_Gama_Filho), a university in [Rio de Janeiro](/source/Rio_de_Janeiro) as [Universidade Gama Filho](/source/Universidade_Gama_Filho) (UGF) or Gama Filho Jiu-Jitsu.<ref name="Jiu Jitsu Legacy 2023">{{cite web |date=30 May 2023 |title=What You Need To Know About GFTeam |url=https://jiujitsulegacy.com/bjj-lifestyle/gfteam/ |website=Jiu Jitsu Legacy}}</ref>

It was developed under coaches Pedro Gama Filho and Paulo Jardim then under [Julio Cesar Pereira](/source/Julio_Cesar_Pereira), Marcus Bello and Alexandre Baraúna.
