***Future Block*** is a Canadian animated [short film](/source/Short_film), directed by Kevin McCracken and released in 1987.[1] A critique of advancing [automation](/source/Automation), the film centres on a man who is frustrated by the depersonalized service he is receiving at a bank that has been fully computerized and has no human staff left.[2]

The film's voice cast includes [Maury Chaykin](/source/Maury_Chaykin), [Walter Massey](/source/Walter_Massey_(actor)), [Kathleen Fee](/source/Kathleen_Fee) and Wally Martin.

The film was a [Genie Award](/source/Genie_Award) nominee for [Best Theatrical Short Film](/source/Genie_Award_for_Best_Theatrical_Short_Film) at the [9th Genie Awards](/source/9th_Genie_Awards) in 1988.[3]
