In 2005, Funkerman topped the Dutch club charts with "Rule the Night" and "The One" and in 2007 he made the [Dutch Top 40](/source/Dutch_Top_40), the [Mega Single Top 100](/source/Mega_Single_Top_100) and the [Mega Top 50](/source/Mega_Top_50) thanks to his collaboration with [Fedde Le Grand](/source/Fedde_Le_Grand) under their "F to the F" alias with "Wheels In Motion".[{{Cite web|url=https://acharts.co/song/12467|title=Wheels In Motion by Funkerman and Fedde Le Grand - Music Charts|website=Acharts.co|accessdate=24 August 2020}}] In that same year, he made the international charts with the track "Speed Up",[{{Cite web|url=https://acharts.co/song/27811|title=Speed Up by Funkerman - Music Charts|website=Acharts.co|accessdate=24 August 2020}}] which eventually got him signed by UK-based label [Defected Records](/source/Defected_Records).
