**Fritz Brandt** (c. 1909 – November 30, 1972) was a [college football](/source/College_football) player, one of the "flaming sophomores" on the [1928](/source/1928_Tennessee_Volunteers_football_team) [Tennessee Volunteers](/source/Tennessee_Volunteers_football) that went 9–0–1.[1] As an [end](/source/End_(American_football)), he played opposite [Paul Hug](/source/Paul_Hug).[2] He was injured in the [1929](/source/1929_Tennessee_Volunteers_football_team) game against [Centre](/source/Centre_Colonels_football).[3] Brandt was selected [All-Southern](/source/College_Football_All-Southern_Team) by the *[United Press](/source/United_Press)*.[4]
