The **Freedom Egypt Party** ([Arabic](/source/Arabic_language): حزب مصر الحرية; [transliterated](/source/Romanization_of_Arabic): *Hizb Masr Alhureyya*) is a political party in Egypt which was founded on 18 May 2011 by [Amr Hamzawy](/source/Amr_Hamzawy) and a group of Egyptian youth after the [Egyptian Revolution of 2011](/source/Egyptian_Revolution_of_2011).

## History

The party initially allied itself with the [Egyptian Bloc](/source/Egyptian_Bloc) ahead of the [2011–12 Egyptian parliamentary election](/source/2011%E2%80%9312_Egyptian_parliamentary_election), though it withdrew from the alliance in October 2011.[3] It contested the election as part of [The Revolution Continues Alliance](/source/The_Revolution_Continues_Alliance).[4]
