# Fred Vanzo

**Frederick Ferdinand Vanzo** (January 8, 1916 – February 1976) was an American professional [football](/source/American_football) player who was a [running back](/source/Running_back) for four seasons for the [Detroit Lions](/source/Detroit_Lions) and [Chicago Cardinals](/source/Chicago_Cardinals_(NFL,_1920%E2%80%9359)). He was selected in the third round of the [1938 NFL draft](/source/1938_NFL_draft) with the 23rd overall pick.[1][2]
