# Fred Rowell

**John Frederick Rowell** (31 December 1918 – 3 March 1988) was an English professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who appeared in the [Football League](/source/The_Football_League) for [Wrexham](/source/Wrexham_A.F.C.), [Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic](/source/A.F.C._Bournemouth) and [Aldershot](/source/Aldershot_F.C.) as a [right back](/source/Right_back_(association_football)).[1] He played in the [1937 FA Charity Shield](/source/1937_FA_Charity_Shield) for [Sunderland](/source/Sunderland_A.F.C.).[3]
